Shodor provides many opportunities that enable students to participate in part time
internships during the summer as well as throughout the school year. The Mentor Center is
located at our office in Durham. Internship applicants should be current majors or demonstrate
proficiency in one or more areas of science; this includes chemistry, physics, biology,
education, mathematics, environmental sciences, biomedical engineering, medicine, computer
science, information technologies and other sciences. Some internships may require programming
ability (C, Java, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, etc.) or graphics and web design skills, while
others may require experience and interest in scientific subject matter. Prior experience is
preferred, but training for qualified internship candidates is available.
