Today was the first day of Web Design. Steven taught the students how internet browsers work with servers to display the internet, using terminology such as domain names, URLs, and IPs. He explained how internet browsers read HTML files to display eye-catching web pages, as well as what a markup language is and how HTML is a child of the XML language. Then, he began to program a web page by using proper HTML syntax and tags. The students began to develop small pages on their local machines, incorporating formatted text and images. At the end of the class, each student was able to make a functioning page.
