Pathways for CyberInfrastructure draws on a number of funding sources to provide its teacher training and workshop teaching assistance to a growing number of venues. Currently, the majority of Pathways projects take place in Durham, N.C., but Shodor is extending the program to other cities and states.

The majority of funding comes from the National Science Foundation's Cyberinfrastructure Training, Education, Advancement, and Mentoring for Our 21st Century Workforce (CI-TEAM) grant. Additional funding comes from a grant from Durham County, from the Student Science Enrichment Program of the Burroughs Wellcome Fund, and from the partner programs where workshops take place.
